This past winter I gave a local wood crafter some pen blanks in exchange for making some pens for me, well I got my pens this week and I an very pleased with the job he did :)



From L to R
Black Ash Burl
Mineral stained Maple
Spaulted Maple
Cherry Burl
Black Ash
Ironwood Burl
Maple Burl
If it can't be nailed or glued then screw it

It looks like you made a good trade.  He did a fine job turning those pens and they are beautiful.

I've never turned pens, but I've seen alot of nice ones and those qualify ;) ;)

I need to turn some more. Those are really nice ones.

I've got a few ideas up my sleeve for some differant things.
I'll get right on it right after all my other projects  :D

sprucebunny the ash stripey one was cut at a 45 to the grain of the wood, he didn't like ta turn that one because of the end grain but thats what makes the pen.

Caught my eye too. I also like the mineral streak maple. Good trade.
