Just realized my WM 4/4 scale on the 1990 mill is 1.125".  New WM mill scale is 1.250", which I believe is acceptable. Have I cut thousands of feet of lumber on the "thin side" with the older mill. How did I miss this?

Unclear why it would be fattened,
quick math for band thickness and set
seems 0.125 works better,

I suspect the materials you cut are fine

Is one softwood and the other maybe HdWd? Normally cut with inch scale and never moved the quarter scale. Customer asked me to go with 4/4 scale and without hesitation, went to work cutting.
Now here at shop with accuset on new mill, I realized my discrepancy.

The 1.125 is the softwood scale and the 1.250 is the hardwood scale.

My old Lane mill sets by 1/4", 1/8" , 1/16" and it once had racks and pinions to saw hardwood in the 1/4"mode that is very easy to use and get the required over thickness lumber for the hardwood market. So nothing has really changed.
