First winter with my new mill. Haven't checked the radiator antifreeze since I picked it up at Will's. I have a greater concern about the little lubemizer pump or the additive freezing and doing damage. I didn't see any reference about freeze protection in the owner's manual. Any input would be appreciated.

Remove all the water and replace with windshield washer fluid.  I also add about a cup or two of pinesol if I am cutting softwood.  Doesnt effect the freezing any but it sure keeps the sap off the blade.

When I am cutting hickory I add a mix of Powderpost Beatle killer into the washer fluid.

Kirk,

What is the mixture ratio that you use?

I dont recall the ration on the bottle of PPB killer.  I think the last bottle I used was something like a cup of bug killer to a gallon of water.  You can pick the stuff up at most TSC stores in the gardening section.

As far as the washer fluid, I use it straight.
