hey, i'm on the other end of the county. who are you, are you in the industry already? if your not, what makes you think you want to try this out of the blue?

ok, i will post in the open forums to get you more feedback. first off, self employed is a whole differnt ball game than a job, you will work long hours and take care of lots of paperwork and logistics that don't really pay.....it just has to be done.
next you must decide if you will contract to a mill or be independent. there are pros and cons to both, the mill will take care of procurement and paperwork, but they will pay you what they want and send where they want. as an independent you must find your own timber and do your own paper work, lines, cruise, insurance and a multitude of other crap i'm to lazy to type lol.
don't get me wrong, i love my work but it was a long hard road to get here.
there is a couple young guys north of you new to the b'ness, i will pm you names.
