Mystery in Carlton Marsh
« on: August 16, 2023, 03:16:13 PM »
The morning of August 15th I was awakened by a barking German Shepherd standing on the foot of the bed, a helicoptor chop chop chopping over my U.P. cabin, and lights darting through the blinds of my bedroom. To me, it was like I had awakened within s scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, here in the wilds of the U.P.

This is what I know, and it aint much. Lou's place was about to be defaulted on  by the land contract holder, when an investor stepped in just in time last fall.

Seems the investor is a Mexican owned business. This property is wild to the river and on to the Canadian Border. Who knows.

Since you posted elsewhere yesterday morning I have been dying to know what it was and just an hour ago checked back on your FB page to see if you found out. I even tried to search it out yesterday on the web, but I don't know your closest town and only think you are in Mackinac County, but not sure. There must be some info somewhere.

My neighbor gary was on the other end of the force on the road. He got the same answer I did. Bary says to the vested officer labled on the back "police", "I guess we will hear about it on the news." The agent or what ever he was says right back to him in a way that Gary took as a message. "Maybe you will"

Later in the morning it got very smokey. Gary messaged me and said put your drone up and see where the smoke is coming from.  I did, I got just above my big speuce and saw it was vast, so forest fire smoke from points north, but the real point was, I immediately get a drone control warning. "Severe aircraft interference"  so I came right back down. They had to be doing something. Ive never had any warning like that up here.

Not a word. I was comparing notes with neighbors, and we know or have heard nothing.

About a week ago there was a plane flying back and forth here for an hour. I live near the border and one never knows if it's for real or some kind of practice lesson. It's pretty much uneventful around here, so I would guess they find ways to break the boredom. :D Reminds me of two years ago, the RCMP was on the roads and old dirt farm roads around here chasing ghosts at speeds a normal driver would never do. I haven't seen one in 2 years since. I know the premier made an announcement back then about not getting much results for the money spent and there was a shuffle. :D

Not one for conspiracy theory, but what the heck is going on up here? Who the heck attacks a State Police post?

Good question. Something in the water?
Well at least they have a good description, should be easy to find, "White male wearing camouflage". How many folks can that be? :D

Probably the drug cartels mad because their meth operation was shut down.

Or a massive Weed growing operation like they found around here a while back. Might just answer Jeff's mysterious search lights.

Pretty gutsy(stupid) considering all the LEO operating in and around the Soo. Along with the State Police would be the City Police, U.S. Border Patrol, Department Homeland Security for the locks, not to mention security around Lake Superior State University and Tribal Police departments. Takes a real knucklehead for sure....
