Advice need on laying outs cuts for fab using square tubing
« on: September 04, 2023, 07:46:21 PM »
I need to make 13 brackets like the one pictured below out of 2” sq tubing for an Escher-style staircase I’m building. Having a little trouble laying out some the angle cuts. Thought maybe the collective wisdom of the FF folks could be helpful.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Penrose triangle optical illusion. Built one a long time ago. Had it in the shop for many years until one day I needed the tubing for something.

Rusticretreater, I originally calculated 29 required but then I substituted a möbius escalator for one section of stairs.  :)

After mastering that, the next skills test is assembling an IKEA 8 drawer cabinet. smiley_thumbsup
Under bark there's boards and beams, somewhere in between.
Cuttin' while its green, through a steady sawdust stream.
I'm chasing the sawdust dream.
