Timberjack 208D serial number with plate missing

Hi FF, First, thanks for all the help you have given me on skidders as a nonmember.  It's been appreciated and it's obvious this forum is a smart AND generous group.  My question: Wondering if anyone knows if/where TJ might have stamped the serial number on the older skidders in addition to the plate that is in the cab. Am looking at an older machine, (I believe it is a 208D as the side panels suggest), and the ID plate in the cab is missing. Other equipment I've worked around sometimes will have the serial number stamped on the frame somewhere. Alternatively, does anyone know the year range for the 208D and how one might fit a machine into the year range based on some feature? Thanks for any ideas.
