Title: Almost maxed out the Lucas
Post by: blackhawk on April 02, 2024, 09:51:42 AM
No one has posted here for a long while, so I thought that I would share some pics of a 56" diameter x 8' long ash log that I slabbed this past weekend.  I was almost at full capacity on the Lucas.  I slabbed these at 3" thickness and each one weighed over 400 lbs.  Luckily, the guy that I was sawing for had a fork truck on site.  The drywall knife (aka sawdust scraper) in the one pic is 12" wide for scale.

Sweet!
I turned down someone looking for ash for stair treads a few weeks ago... should I see if he is still looking?
