The Wife wanted to replace a wicker hamper in the bathroom. So I made this cabinet for her.

The piece of cane work (on the right) was next.
This I made of poplar and birch ply, same frosted glass doors.

I said I could put a shelf in it,LED lighting for a night light,no go.

I tried My best to match the colors but I'm still on a learning treck with that skill.

Every type of lighting gives aninline dyes a different hue.

The only design point I was granted was to put 2 false drawers on the front to match the other cab and make the top flip open.
I also added molding under the top to make the top look more substantial.

I see a lot of great work posted here and I love it all,I'm sorry that I can not post My thoughts on most I view.
I can't type fast enough to really express My thoughts!
I also have a 94 year old MIL that I'm helping to care for 24/7.
Whenever I get a chance I always come here.Keep them coming Guys!!!

Jim,

That looks great.  I think that it matches just fine.  The flippy top is a nice detail.

Good looking cabinetry.  Did you size it for some pull out bins or basket?  Add a drop in bottom and you can have the security hidey hole Busy Beaver's suggesting.   8)

With a small length of LED's it would have made a great night-lite,for when I need to get up in the night and I would have made it taller and wider but alas........ ::)

The hardest part for Me is the finishing.I must do it outside under a Norway spruce that is mostly shaded by a Sycamore but
I can have more than several min. of direct sunlight blazing down on sections.Causing the lacquer to harden before the solvents
have fully evaporated, resulting in huge bubbles. :(

I blendeded them in by using a balled up pad of rags semi-soaked with alochol.Second spray session turned out well,if Ya
don't think of the dozen pine needles that stuck to the drying finish. And don't forget the insects!

Lud I installed levelers in each corner so I just lift it on one side and put the money and jewelery bags under it,all nice and flat!!!!
