Yes, I join in, honoring all veteran comrades on this special day.

All gave some, some gave all!

My first recollections of veterans are of my  uncles.  Some served in WWII some in Korea.  Little nephews often idolize their uncles and I certainly did/do still in part because they served.

As I got older, that admiration grew to encompass all who served.  A portion of that came from playing on the VFW sponsored baseball team.

The veterans supported our team not just by paying for uniforms but by being in the stands every week.  I didn't fully understand then, at 10 or 11 years old, but now realize why they cheered for every team and every player.

And now, much older, I recognize how veterans have saved and improved our way of life.  Specifically, I see how my individual life is changed for the better by our veterans both during their service and after.

Many thanks to all who have served and many thanks to those veterans who continue to serve our communities in various ways.

Maybe more fitting for Memorial Day, but this one always brings home how much some sacrificed.
