I had a weekend job waitressing at a local truck stop.  My son's were grown and out of the house, so the weekend job was as much for my social life as the income.  I met a lot of people working at that diner, but no one that I would have been interested in dating, until one day I noticed this guy sitting with some friends.  I asked one of the other waitresses if she knew if he was single.  She said, "yes he is."  I said, "You're kidding."  She said, "No, he is single, and I've known him for years, and he's a really nice guy."

Well, that was October of 2000.  I waited on him and tried to flirt every way that I could, but he just wasn't getting the point, or I figured he just wasn't interested.  Still, one day in January 2001, I took his breakfast order (eggs over light, rare steak) and when I brought his breakfast to him, he asked me if he could have some hot sauce.  I asked him if he wanted the small bottle of really hot sauce, or the taller bottle of milder hot sauce, and he said, "Either one will be fine, I'm easy to get along with."  I said, "I'll make a note of it."   :D   He finally looked me in the eye.

Just to show it's never too late for true love, Cowboy Bob was 45 when we finally got together.  Old rodeo guy had never been married, and I fear trying to tie a knot on him would prolly take the spirit out of him, so we've let it be, and we're very happy.

Now those are some good stories. :)

We went to high school together but she was a year older than me so we really never had any classes together. I was the night janitor at our local hospital and she was a nurse's aide working the same shift. I'd run into her while doing my job as often as possible without incurring the wrath of the head nurse. Sometimes I think she just felt sorry for me as I was very shy and would probably never ask her out for a date. But one evening we wound up at my buddies snowmobile shop and she ended up riding with me. Even though my feet were so cold my toes about feel off I could have ridden all night. We dated off and on until I finally got my head out of my lower extremities and asked her to marry me.

And as the story goes we lived happily ever after....that's my version and don't believe a thing Patty will tell you otherwise. ;)

I spied mine across the court yard when I was a Senior in high school. Asked one of her friends if she was dating anyone and her friend informed me that her Mom was not letting her date yet.

Fast forward about a month. I went into the store where her Mom worked one morning on the way to school and asked her Mom if she knew anyone who might want to go to the drive-in that weekend. She said she didn't.

Went back in that afternoon and her mom asked if I found a date, told her no. She said she knew someone who might go, but I would have to call her and ask. I asked who, she said her daughter. I called and we've been together since. She was a sophomore.

Ohso,  Congrats. That's a lucky day. That's the day I married my 1st Bride. We lasted nearly 41 years, before she passed away.   :(

Coming up on 3 years for #2 Bride, in April.  8)

Thanks, Harold  :)   If I make it through all these wedding plans, the marriage will be a breeze   :D

Just pray we have nice weather....it's going to be an outdoor ceremony.
