I picked up a jalapeno chocolate bar once in a store in Port Angeles, WA.  Took a big ol' bite - smooth, chocolaty, no kick to it at all ---- for the first 5 seconds, then it began to "finish" and OH MY, What in all that is holy did I eat?  It was good thing I was not back in the truck when all of that happened is all I can say -likely would have ended up driving off the cliff into the strait just to get water....

Blackberry and Jalapeno, not one I'd thought of, but it sounds great.  I have made Kiwifruit / Chilli , and Feijoa / Chilli relish. They come out as more of a pickle / sauce, with vinegar, but sugar from the fruit. Might be able to find some blackberries next month and give that a go.

I've got a block of Whittakers Kaitaia Fire chocolate on the desk right now that I got for Christmas. It's good stuff Kaitaia Fire is the local version of Tabasco sauce.

If you have a Sonic in your neighborhood, stop in and order a chocolate jalapeƱo shake. You might not see it on the menu, but they'll make you one. A very worth while adventure.

Good pic  :)

Michelle has been working on her pepper jelly recipe as well as blueberry, black and ras. They are just about ready to send off to the state for approval so she can sell them. When she was working as an ag tech at NCSU they were trying to breed a pepper with the most capsicum (sp?) for industrial use like pepper sprays and such. She brought a plant home called NC Hot and planted it in the garden. When it ripened I was out there with her when she took a tiny bite. There was a blur that blew by me and the kitchen door was banging on its hinges  :D I got inside and she had the milk jug up and was sucking the sides in. We didn't save any seeds off that one.

I laughed out loud at the description/vision.

Don -

When I was a kid for reasons that are beyond me to this day a buddy and I got into a "pepper fight".  The only thing I remember is riding home with my mom and hanging my head out of the window the whole time.  How did we ever survive??

My old partner makes jalepnos jelly, one time after a big batch, he took all the seeds he had scraped out of them and made jelly with the seeds, it was pretty potent, but tasted good.

My grandmother liked her stuff HOT, so a lot of things she canned, she made two different batches, one hot and the other HOT, just for her and my dad.
One time my grandad and I was going to have a bowl of chile, when a neighboring farmer stopped by. He dished up a bowl ant took one bite, then ask if we had any ketchup he could put in it to kool it down. Grandad told him to help himself, grandma always made her own ketchup and everybody elses ketchup, he got a jar and put a liberal dose in the chile, then howled like a banshee when he took the next bite. He had grabbed the wrong ketchup.

We used cane poles back when I was a kid, don't see many around anymore!

The only thing that resembled a cane pole up this way was grandfather's bamboo fishing rod. Rarely was used. They are now $1200 brand new.  :o And I have it, almost like new in the case, spare tip, serial numbers on all the pieces.  :)

Looks like a very nice time at the 'deer farm'. ;) Glad everything went well and a well spent vacation from the winter doldrums and computer screens.  :)
