The EPA is imposing new emission controls on both indoor and outdoor wood stoves. Although the EPA has very flowery language about making this law easier on manufacturers, it is going to have a devastating affect on the industry because the new furnaces must burn dry wood, and cost far more than traditional models. I note that the CB e-2400 has been moved to the "archived" list.  It apparently does not meet the new standards.

All while these disgusting bureaucrats sit in their DC offices which is heated by none other than a coal fired boiler. Phenomenally disgusting.  The only saving grace is that for now these rules only apply to residential boilers, which are under 300,000 BTU I am pretty sure.  Agricultural and commercial will be exempt for now.  You watch there will be a new tax credit to replace your non compliant stove, paid for of course with taxes and borrowed money.

They will just keep raising the bar until zero particulates (PM2.5, PM10) is the standard.  No manufacturer can meet this and they know that.  Remember how renewables were all the rage. The new buzz words are "zero emissions" and "sustainability".  The environmental extremists in charge of conjuring policy at the EPA (and fellow travelers in other Agencies) have radical "long range strategic plans" for us pesky humans (hint: Google Agenda 21).  The endgame now is to phase out all carbon sources of fuel.  We all know this is impossible at least in our lifetimes.  That doesn't matter.  They are even concerned about the life cycle CO2 generated in the manufacture of solar panels.  Trust me, I know how they think, and there are no limits to the lengths some folks working for these Agencies are willing to go with this.  They truly believe they are working for the greater good and therefore, know no boundaries. It is almost a religion for them.  Outdoor wood burners being regulated out existence is the least of our worries.

Got a letter from my representative in Madison. She said that although Wisconsin is passing a measure to ensure that no State agencies will aid in the enforcement, it can still be enforced by the feds.
