Title: Tuning an MS261 (Non Mtronic)
Post by: ThreeFingerMack on May 29, 2017, 04:17:01 PM
I have an MS261 and want to tune it so it runs right, but I'm green as grass and twice as stupid. Is this fella doing it right? Can i just copy him and be ok?

That family of saws ships with different carbs. Some have fixed jet for high-speed mixture, which obviously can't be adjusted.

If it has both H and L mixture adjustments, the L is the one closer to the engine, if you can't see marks identifying them. Adjust as with any other such 2-stroke.

If it has fixed jet for H, fully adjustable replacement carbs can be found.
