I foudn a place that I am interested in, and it has some good sized beech trees on it that were left after a harvest because of value. Are they useable for timbers?

When we cut beech for pallet wood 3x6's some of them like to twist as soon as they get off the carriage.  After you cut them, I'd let them sit for a few weeks before you start building.

Okay then....maybe not the beech!

I can get plenty of SYP down here, but wanted something other than pine. Oak is available but not on this property. May be something else avaiable off one of the neighbors places......

I have four buildings to build on the place, 2 of which are reasonably small (forge, and sawmill shed) and will be done first. The barn comes next, and then the house. I am hoping after the neighbors see a mill running around a bit, that they will start calling me like they do Kirk, and I will end up with what I need to build with......big hope there, but possible.....
