I have noticed that bing maps are much better detail than last year.  Maybe they did some updates?  Of course, some areas are much better detail than others.

Image is from late last July here, can't pinpoint the date exactly but it was after hay season and before snow. haha

Texas Ranger

Jeff, I would have to guess it depends on commercial importance of the area.  In town here, the pictures are several years old.

We have everything on aerial photography with GEONB also with outlines of roads and properties. I think the latest is now 2010 photography (only 1999-2002 online). I know on the 2010 photography you can zoom in enough to ID a tree. But as I said it does not appear to be online yet, but the marketing boards have the images under their silviculture agreement with DNR.

My house image is 3 years old and Tenn property 2. Google earth is even older there the house is 4 and Tenn is 5 last time I checked.

Depends on the source. In Google Earth you can see aerial photos from the past.

There is a definite difference between the different map sources.  For example when looking at my tree farm, the more distant pictures are older than the Birds Eye View pictures.
