A few days ago I posted that a dealer told me he was informed by Husqvarna we would not see the new 562XP until January. Yesterday a dealer from New Hampshire called me and said the 562XPs have arrived. I am going tomorrow to buy one.

I bought the saw at Bear Country Powersports in Errol, NH. Labonville's quoted me $700.00 on the saw. If you want one you better move fast because the only dealers that have them are the ones that ordered months ago. If a dealer orders one now he will be waiting a while.

Nice price on the 562XP. What kind of prices are you seeing on the 555?

John Mc,  I didn't even pick up the 555 they had there nor did I inquire about the price. After waiting 10 months for the 562XP I justed wanted to grab it and run. If you want, give them a call at: 603-482-3370. I am sure they will quote you over the phone.

How do you like it now that you have it? Or were afraid of running it over with the skidder and left it in the toolbox :)
It ain't easy...

JDeere

Believe it or not, I have not yet even tried the saw. I expect to in the next couple days. When I picked up the 562XP I also bought a new 346XP. Actually, I traded my old 346XP that had been run over twice by the skidder for the new one. I could never get it to run right after the second episode. I am going to try to not have a repeat with either one of these saws.

Any one know what differences there are between the 555 and 562?  price and performance? Can a 555 be brought to 562 levels of power for those who need one now?

(Looks like the 555 is small mount vs. large and has fewer features such as the rev boost,,,does that effect peak rated HP?)

The price difference is the 562 is $100+/- more than the 555. The 555 is small mount. I like my 555 but it will have a 562 (or the red version of it) joining it.

I had a chance to run both these saws..a 555 and 562XP for a short time this weekend. (Thank you Spike60!  8)) Granted just a few hours of time only gives impressions, but came away impressed. Both are smooth, really smooth! Both have good solid power for my hardwoods. Both handle nice and are lighter than my 70cc saws..motomedic had a modded to the hilt 262XP there as well. If Husqvarna was trying to bring that size/power package back to their product line..they were successful.

The 562XP does have a bit more power than the 555 (Looks a lot nicer too!!)..it feels snappier and when we timed it going through FROZEN Beach around 18inches (Otherwise rock hard and full bar mid log) The 562Xp was a second or two ahead every time..might be a roughly 8 percent difference. The chain on the 555 had more time and may have played a role but also the 562XP was fresh out of the box with no break in time. Then I took the 555 and Motomedic the 562XP & did some work. Apparently the 562XP was picking up power as time went on as it only had a tank thru it and the 555 had several tanks though it at timed test time, so was broken in more completely. SO? you won't be disappointed with either one...but if the money and patience are there you would be happier with a 562XP..:)

As an aside, my bride was able to start & run the 555 and wasn't intimidated at all by it..she thought it was quite nice and then called my 268 a pig! (as compared) First impression! There is honesty in that..

I plan to have a red version as soon as they come out. Guess rumor has it they will be called the cs-2260 as posted on another site and will actually be based on a 560..that's the rumor as another member had posted a J-red promotional vide from Europe...maybe maybe! Won't know for certain until they get here...but I want one.

If it's based on the the 560XP, I guess the Jonsered unit will be a small-mount bar?

That music gave me goosebumps... beautiful tune.

Nice looking saw but not so sure I like the idea of not being able to tune it manually.... unless it's still there and they just didnt show it..

From what I understand, you cannot tune it manually. However, the autotune is supposed to continualy tune the saw for varying conditions (different fuels - like switching from E10 to "real" gas, different altitudes or atmospheric pressure, partially clogged air filter, etc.)

It does make me wonder about using these autotune saws for chainsaw milling. Usually people run rich for this application, to protect the saw from overheating in a long cut. Will the autotune handle such a situation?

I'm pretty impressed with the 562 autotune , very strong saw with a ton of torque and nice to handle and run

How are the 562XPs doing now that they're broke in  ??? ???  I was at a Husky dealer the other day that had one.  Nice looking saw for sure.  My Jonsered dealer hasn't heard anything about a red version yet.

Corley5, My 562XP is the best saw I have ever owned when you consider cost, weight and power. I don't mean to say it was the cheapest, lightest or most powerful, but when I consider all three factors I found it to be #1. I felled and limbed 90% hardwoods this winter from about 12" up to 30" and used my 562XP almost all the time. I have 10 chainsaws from small Huskys and Jonsereds up to a 576XP and all I wanted to use was the 562XP.
