I was resplitting some wood the other day and came across this monster in the middle of a piece. I didn't think much of it at the time so I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. I had cottonwood, poplar and Ash that I was splitting.

Any idea what the worm is?

Some species of long horned beetle probably. It's a larva.
