Hey Guys
Tomorrow I take 13 logs to local Woodmizer mill to have sawed Sawer is Jack Spruill of Independent Sawmill &Woodlot mag fame. 8) 8)First sawyer didnt want to saw them because they were not fresh, and are yard treesnnot good quality.Ithink he was afraid I wouldn't be satisfied.Stain and knots not a problem, just for shed siding. ;D ;D
I think the first sawyer was afraid of some tough sawing (partially dried wood saws like old shoe) or hardware in the logs. I've done both and I don't like either. i tell the log owner about the potential problems before I start so they won't be surprised if the lumber doesn't turn out as good as I think it should. Most are pretty happy when I do saw them though.
