if you have a Milwaukee 18V Hacksall they make very good pruning blades for them.

I spent time this winter clearing out about 150' of brush and trees so my sunflower patch gets more sun.
I buy a bag of seeds sold for birdseed and hand spread it over about 1/3 acre.

I can sit in my barn watch my dogs run and when the sunflowers are ready there seems to be thousands of yellow and black chickidees.

I actually do also have a Milwaukee Hackzall. Just a few days ago, I grabbed it and tried to cut something and it was pitiful. I don't know how it got so dull! Then I wondered why did I buy this thing? I assumed that I bought it to cut sapling roots around my yard but it cut so pitiful this time, I figured I'd just sell it. Beats me, maybe it's another blade type on it that is not good for green wood. Regarding what I now need, I figured one of those battery hatchets would cut a sapling faster than the Hackzall and when you are bending over to cut, speed matters. My memory is failing me on use of that Hackzall in the past.

We never had a brown thrasher last year, but hope to see one this year. I'm on the very edge of the range, some years we don't see one.

Tom, that's just bad luck.  What are the odds?

So far, no sign of coming up. The roots look good, but everytheverything on top was dead and gone.

You made a comment in your video I didn't see here in the forum.

OJH said, "this light wasn't coming on when the engine was running.  For some reason it wasn't."

That's a very important clue.  The charge warning light should come on KOEO and then go out when the alternator begins charging.  The warning light alone does not pinpoint what is wrong, it does pinpoint where testing should begin.   The alternator will normally fail to begin charging if that light does not work.

Also, you made several comments on battery voltage.  12 or 12 (?+) is NOT good. The battery should read 12.5 volts (plus or minus 0.1-0.2) at rest ,steady state,  not charging and 1-2 volts above steady state during charging.

There is 0.66 volts difference between a 100% charged battery and a 0% charged battery.

Were the wires you tested for continuity disconnected when the OHMS test was preformed?

OK, I remember the Hosta plants but I missed where they were planted.  Deer regularly mow PatD's Hosta plants here at home.

It's surprising that they have not hopped over there.

It's been a while since I shared a video here but I thought I'd share this one so you can see the mill running great :)  I'm really thinking it was something so simple as oxidation on the wires.  Hydraulics and electric motors all running great again and I milled up 5 logs in the time I had between burning slash and other projects so it was a great day!  Now to fall some more timber and get back to milling!!

Last fall, Furby gave me a ton of hasta plants that were to be discarded.  Within that 100ft perimeter fence, I planted 196 hasta plants. Deer are supposed to love em. I'm trying to get them established before we find out.

Nice and useful installation.

I keep intending to ask what is behind the orange barrier mesh, just nosy?  :uhoh:

Bluebirds and Tree Swallows are busy now.

Haven't seen a Hummingbird, Rose Breasted Grossbeak or a Brown Thrasher yet!
