Back where I grew up the neighbors son drove over a much, much smaller piece of wood with his ford puckup. A branch really. Went up through the floor boards, pierced his heart. Died within a few minutes. My oldest brother held him in his arms talking with him while he died.

a guy around me lost a toe last year when a limb came up through the floor of a backhoe.  ive also seen cases of limbs come right through the firewall of rockcrawlers.

I am curious. If you have an object hanging that far out the back of the vehicle you have to put a red flag in it to draw attention to other drivers.  Does that rule apply to the front as well?
