Range regulator??
« on: February 02, 2023, 07:09:30 PM »
I need some reassurance. I just bought a old fashion style gas cooking range. It brand new out of the box. Works fine but my observation is that the regulator is crazy close to the oven flame. No guards of any kind. Is this normal and safe? My old oven was a fancier oven and had all kinds of guards and junk. Yes junk that’s why I bought the bar bones Ge. What do you think?

Is it UL listed?   Also, is that a plastic cover on the regulator? If so yea, I get the "eek" response too.

Yeah that’s a plastic cover. And it says ansi certified and mobile home approved. I’m going to try and call GE tomorrow.

He also said they sell out. It was the last one in stock. We have a large Amish community and they buy them he said.
