Timber Industry on Maui
« on: August 20, 2002, 11:07:58 PM »
Steve,

I notice you are online tonight,  My son and daughter are on the Island of Maui for a short vacation before college starts.  They got round trip, non stop tickets from St. Louis to Maui for $375.  Convinced their Mother they couldn't afford not to go at that price.

What sort of timber and timber industry will they find there?

I'm on the Big Island. There really isn't much of a timber industry on Maui that I'm aware of. Mostly urban salvage logging, although there is some Koa. Also Eucalyptus, Mango, Monkey pod but not in an industry supporting amount, really.
