anyone have any idea how spruce works for paintable trim/millwork?  a neighbor gave me
a 16'  and an 18' log.  beautiful, straight .  those lengths were to the first limb.  also curious if anybody has experience with burr oak?

Should work just fine, every older house in these parts have spruce exterior trim. Now a days everything is vinyl, even the window frames.  :-\
