Hi, I have a Stihl 036 pro and have to have high screw turned almost all in to get to run without smoking terribly.  IS THERE A WAY TO FIX CARB OR SHOULD i BUY A NEW ONE?

AKDoug

We need more info. How does it run with the screw turned out 1 full turn? Smoking isn't always an indicator of proper tune.

have a hard time starting it with screw out 1 turn, flooding, if it does start it runs slow and smokes like krazy, held it wide open and turned in screw until it reved up, and screw was almost tight.

Sounds like the metering needle is sticking. Try cleaning the needle and seat. Make sure it is set at the correct height, most likely even with the slot.

What zerojunk said. The carbs are easy to rebuild, and the kits run under $20. IF that's the problem.
