Anybody know how to fix an electronic clinometer?

Anybody know how to fix an electronic clinometer? I have a Hagloff, it has just gone blank on me, I put in a new battery, still doesn't work. I tapped it with my finger and it worked for a little while, then went blank again. I don't want to send it in and wait for weeks, I would like to know a few simple things I might try that won't hurt anything.
