Title: Nyle kiln gasket
Post by: acewoodturner on August 23, 2014, 03:30:39 AM
Does anyone know the material that Nyle use to make their gasket from and how thick it is?

Welcome to the Forestry Forum.

Maybe some more info about the gasket, as some may be able to help but not know enough about it.

The gasket on my door kit from Nyle is rubber.

I bought a used fire hose from a local fire station and it makes a great gasket for my Nyle Kiln.

If you make a donation to the local fire department for a new hose (and maybe get a tax deduction too), they might be very interested in letting you have the discarded hose.  I have seen this material used for door gaskets on kilns.
