Title: new maine tax law?
Post by: snowstorm on August 15, 2013, 07:37:28 PM
from what i have learned woods equipment new or used and parts for commercial wood harvesting equipment will exempt from sales tax. you have to fill out the forms with the state and they give you a card. went to get a hydraulic hose today and i asked there if they knew anything about it. so far they had only seen one card. she did print off a copy of the new law. it says go to www. maine.gov/revenue.  it says nothing about firewood. looks like the firewood guys and part timers gotta pay the tax. oh and for woodhauler atv's do not qualify.

In Mi we don't pay sales tax on anything for Ag or Industrial Processing.

Don't look like woodhauling fits in this!
