I actually picked this up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I got to open it early.  ;D

I owe a great big Thank You to Member Holmes. He found this splitter for me on Craigslist. I had asked him a bunch of questions about his unit earlier last Fall.  After our conversations, I made up my mind that I had to have one. When I made the announcement to 'The Head Bean Counter,' my bubble was shot down with an icy glare!  And then with my head hanging I heard, "Are you nuts? Don't you realize you can buy two of the biggest hydraulic splitters at Tractor Supply for the price of one of those!"

Back to the drawing board.  :D
I let Holmes know my purchase was postponed till next year. He suggested CL and to be patient. A few days before Thanksgiving (the real U.S. TG  ;D), Holmes sent me a text that there was a listing for a 'like new' SuperSplitR in Marquette Mi. I called, found out that only 5 cords had gone through it and it was still available. We haggled a bit, ran the best price past said Bean Counter and told the seller I'd be there Saturday afternoon.

I bribed Momma with a stop at one or two of the six Indian Casino's on the way , if shed ride with me.. She grudgingly accepted and along with my 2 biggest Grandson's for the heavy lifting, we set off at 6:00 a.m. 350 miles, two food stops (no casino's) and 8 hrs later, we pulled in. I saw a couple bolt split, the boys rolled it up the ramps into the bed, strapped her down and 20 minutes later we're pulling out of the driveway.

I guess I pulled a fast one on Vicki, because with a 15 and 14 year old with us, I knew there's be no slot playing.  :)
We stopped in Munising for a good supper and beat feet for home, pulling into our house about 11:00 that night.

Thanks Holmes for the find and Merry Christmas to all.

Electric!! I saw that at a show. That is a nice unit. It seemed odd to see it split wood with out a roaring motor.

The electric version was what I had reservations over. Holmes walked me through my issues and I made up my mind to go electric. Noise, fumes and one less gas motor to deal with appealed to me. If I want to split inside out of the weather, I'm good.

The motor can be wired 110 or 220. Mine came 110. One of my concerns was the shed that I would be pulling my power from is grossly under wired. 110 requires a 20 amp circuit and Holmes told me 20 amps is a must. I think my shed is probably getting 15 amps, if that. I tried it out next to my garage with a 20 amp circuit and it worked awesome. I split a pickup load in about 20 minutes.

I moved it over to the shed and it didn't work so well. The motor was really struggling. I have 220 available so I rewired the motor and I'm back in business.

Trapper, Momma reminds me almost daily about reneging on my my deal. Now its going to cost me an overnight at the Casino.  ::)

Marty, say the word. Will work for food!  ;D
