If anyone reads Spanish I would like some opinions on the new forestry control law we have on our hands.  It is a real peice of work.

If you would like to read it send me an PM or advise me on this post and I will send it to you.  I dont want to take up space here as it is a lot of pages and I´m sure not to many could read it anyway.

easymoney

why is there not an english version if it is a law that will effect us?

I'll take a shot in the dark here , but maybe it is because he is in Peru and the working language there is Spanish .  ;)

This law will not affect you at this time but it is being pushed heavily on the tropical countries around the world by the eco movement -tree huggers- and the next step will be moving into the developed countries if they can do it.

What I would like is some opinions of real foresters but I dont see any names of people on the forum that look to be Spanish readers.  Now that I think about it crtreedude and Harold in Central America could read this.

Jim
To be perfectly honest, I have never been able to read and get much out of what I have read. It just does not soak in.

I have to have 1 photo of something, in order to figure out a problem or to build something similar. I never have tested well, because of this. To get my merchant marine Captains license, I had to memorize 3 floppy disks of test Q&A, and take the test as a Zombie. That worked.

Lately, my brain capacities are failing. I CRS, and find it very difficult to keep a train of thought.  I fear I am losing brain function. I don't post here much, or anywhere much. I just can't get thoughts together.

I am VERY concerned about what is happening in the world, with timber. One day, I HOPE people wake up and support things like you are trying to do.

My second try at gaining my Pension back, after having it stolen by the "Fund System", was to plant trees here. Now, I fear that soon, the stupid GPS of "every tree in the world" system, will make it virtually impossible for me or my family to be able to sell trees as lumber.

Until people wake up and see what is happening, I believe pretty much, all future wood sales will be stifled, until the BIG $$$ people have their grubby hands on EVERY form of energy or viable means of construction, especially materials.

I commend you for at least trying to open peoples eyes. Wish I was more able to help.

Harald:
Sorry to here about your problems.  I have had 5 strokes and a heart attack over the last few years and I felt the same.  The last one a few months ago put me in a cloud  and I was paralized on my right side contrary to the left side for the last one.  I could not make it to the corner store.  I could not remember the names of old friends etc. etc..  A real basket case.

I took many medicines that did nothing for me and some made me worse.  I finally gave in to friends and started taking a tablespoon of powdered "Maca" in water every morning and within a week I was walking , typing  and thinking clear again.  I ran out of Maca and immediatly started going down hill.  After about 10 days I got more and came back to life again.  It made a believer out of me and everyone that saw me over that time period are absoutly shocked at my recovery.  They all thought it was over as did I.

Maca is a potato like plant that grows above 10,000 ft altitude in the Andes.

Now you add to that that I am Manic Depresive or the new name is BiPolar it was not a good time in my life.

Keep trying new medicines or remadies and KEEP BUSY.  You can get back to normal.   Nothing better to get you stimulated and going again than a good fight with some eco group.

Now I am just old and no cure for that.

Jim, is that pronounced Maa Caa ??  believe my Wife was talking about something that sounded like that, just this morning ??  We are not at 10,000 feet, though ??

  I will ask her. Thanks.

I'm not new to fights with Eco's. When I was younger, I was a Trapper. After all the horror stories about traps taking hands off school kids and such, I went to a local meeting.

Had a Brand new, max legal size trap, and stuck my fingers in it to trip it. Of course, I was accused of weakening the springs, and all sorts of other lies and inuendos. It's hard to deal with people who will not listen. They just jump on a fad, because their dippy friends have, and there is NO changing the mob attitude. One on One, maybe ??

Harald:

Yes that is how it is pronounced but as anyone knows it only grows in the high Andes of Peru and Bolivia.  Being in Latin America most people use it as a natural Viagra but it has a lot of other properties also.  If you Google it there are hundreds of pages on it.  One site from researchers in Chicago says it increases brain activity by releasing chemicals in the brain that naturally slow with age.  I cannot find that page again.   For sure it is not poisoness , one night our Great Dane took a bak off the cupboard and at the full bag of 1 kilo.

The Wonders of Maca
by author Zoltan P. Rona, MD

What is maca (Lepidium meyenii) and why has it suddenly become popular in North America? Maca is an energy booster that relieves insomnia, stress, and depression while increasing libido.

Maca's popularity may also be due to public demand for safe alternatives to prescribed hormone replacement therapy, which has been linked to higher incidences of heart disease, cancer, and stroke. To date, no toxicity or problems with drug interactions have been reported by maca users.

A cruciferous vegetable of the mustard family, maca is related to radishes and turnips; maca grows at altitudes of 14,500 feet (4,420 metres) in the Andean mountains of Peru, where few other plants can survive.

Maca (also known as Peruvian ginseng) is rich in medicinal compounds, including alkaloids, amino acids, glucosinolates, and sterols. The herb is regarded as an adaptogen that helps the body fight stress. It elevates pituitary and adrenal hormones when they are too low and reduces them when they are too high.

Available in powdered, liquefied, and capsule forms, look for brands that use only pure maca root, grown following organic standards. Buy gelatinized maca for its enhanced potency and absorption.

Typical dosage for most adults is 1,500 mg twice daily, but several times this amount can be taken safely. Although the majority of maca users are middle-aged men and women, maca can be used by people of any age.

Benefits of Maca:

•relieved hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms
•enhanced libido and imroved potency
•increased energy, stamina, and endurance
•relieved depression and reduced stress
•relieved premenstrual syndrome, or PMS
•improved athletic performance
•increased testosterone levels
•enhanced fertility

Thanks for that info, Jim. It's something Reina has never heard of. We should be in San Jose next week, and will try Natural Medicine shops to see if they have heard of it.

I will definitely try it.

By all means go ahead, use any and all of what I said, and feel free to post my namr and address! The truth needs to get out any way it can! The more people know about these groups like WWF and NGS etc. etc. (insert you favorite enviro group here), the quicker people will wake up, denounce their membership, and pass the word on to others!

Do you mind if I put this on the FF without your name and only as a person who responded to me personally ?¿  Thanks for your opinion.  The drug business here in Iquitos is at an all time high and the town is booming and with this new law it will increase rapidly.
The sad thing is that the NGO´s such as the WWF are financed by USAID and pushing the people to the cocaine business.

I also worked with DINANDRO a bit and they are a fiasco here.

Again thank you for your opinion.

Jim,

After perusing this my thoughts are that this is similar to the globalization push by operatives within the governments of almost all countries, to tie up and limit the resources of a nation within a system of control that is overseen by a small group of elitists, who want total control of the whole world, and more especially the economic engines that allow a people in whatever nation they live, to live a free self determined type of lifestyle, and exercise and usurp total control over the masses.  The special interests who are allowed to exploit such "new" rules and regulations are those who with graft and corruption, further their selfish ends, i.e. the narcotraficantes and their ilk.  I spent some time as an employee of a government contractor in the years 1989-1991, we were engaged in various US foreign policy activities which included taking part in the "war on drugs".  My company a couple years prior to me being in latin America, lost an aircraft in this "war", where they daily moved Guardia Nacionál troops in and out of hotspots, as they combated the activities on the ground in the heart of the cocaine trade, from bases in Tingo Maria, and Santa Lucia, and Lima.  I have seen first hand the way life is in the amazon basin, and realize that groups such as el Sendero Iluminoso, are alive and well in South America, and it is the same type of folks in charge in Washington DC now.  Communist Revolutionaries have infiltrated all levels of governments in the free world, and the world is ramping up for a major clash between those who will subjugate others into a way of life that is counter to the way free men and women in many nations want to live.  You can read right through the legal-eze that they use in rules such as the ones contained in this new iniciativa.  That is my take on it, for what it is worth.  I applaud you in your efforts there in trying to provide honest work for good people, who sadly are used as pawns in a much bigger game.  I have much respect for the "compesinos" in latin America, and this usery will come to an end soon.  The true Lord of this earth, will be back to right things, and it is up to those who have been warned to warn all those who will give a listening ear, to get on their knees and pray for their families, and their desired way of life, as it is radically being attacked and torn by those who would have every free person on earth enchained in a system of corruption and graft, for the benefit of the "few" by the exploitation of the "masses".  Not to be too preachy , but this is what I see through all of this garbage.  Similar to the new"rules" and "regulations" about to be unleashed on us here in the good ole USA by an army of bearucrats through federal machinery such as the EPA, SEC, FCC, etc. etc.  I can see it in the ag and forestry industries here, not only as a tree farm owner and manager, but as one engaged in the application industry, supporting forestry operations throughout the western US.  We are in for a rough ride all around.   See you on the FF, and thanks for taking the time to share and post this info.  It is an eye opener to me even more!

Here it is in a simplified form.  Thanks for your interest.  I would appreciate any comments.
This is the control over an already existing forestry law that will put thousands more into the cocaine business and deforest thousands of acres per year for cocaine and not let the people work honestly using proper forestry methods.

Jim, How did the rainy season treat you down there?  Is the economic slowdown affecting folks down south as well?

Mad Murdock:

The rainier season and the snow melt in the Andes is starting and the river is coming up as normal.  We have not had an economic turndown here and the economy is very strong.

The wood business is booming as everything that can be produced is going to China.  The problem we have now is that the new law enforcement of the forestry law is shutting down one mill after another.

The law is virtually impossible to comply with for the common lumberman and will destroy the industry but from that the cocaine business will boom even more and the economy will continue to grow here locally.  In general South America with the exception of Venezuela and Argentina are doing very , very well.

Most countries have very little International debt and have good reserves.  The US Government just dropped off another $100,000,000 to enforce the Eco laws tied to the Free Trade Agreement between Peru and the US and things are getting very rigid here.

mad murdock

That is so sad to hear our government wasting money there to push the socialist agenda on the folks in Peru.  Hopefully you are well protected if the Narcos get nasty like they are in Northern Mex. The local officials in the Northern states of Mexico have all but given in to the Cartel rule, as well as the federali's.
