Hey guys I've been trying for over a yr to contact this one member who spoke of knowing where there was a huge stand of osage orange...looks like he has come up MIA...tried his FB page & several pm's here all to no avail. :'(

Or perhaps he desires to cut & burn it all himself...who knows :-\

Nevertheless...Are any of you guys aware of any stands of Hedge, Black/Honey locust in my parts?
Kinda fell pretty hard for these hardwoods...prefer them over all else.
Or info on how to sniff them out??? ???

Thanks
Reggie

Black locust and honey locust are two different species.  The former is rot resistant and the latter is not.

You can usually find yellow locust (same genus as black locust) in the mountains of NC close to the TN border.
Peterson 10" WPF with 65' of track

Tom's 3638D Baker band mill
and a mix of log handling heavy equipment.
