Title: Jeff B and Whitepe visit Old Mill Creek
Post by: whitepe on August 11, 2003, 04:41:12 PM
Today (Aug. 11, 2003),  Jeff, Tammy, Becky and I spent
the day touring around in the Forestry Forum red pickup
touring the upper part of the lower peninsula of Michigan.
The highlight of the day was a visit to Old Mill Creek
State Park about 5 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge
on the Lake Huron shore.  Old Mill Creek is a historically
re-constructed water powered saw mill based on
archaelogical digging and other historical research. The first
archaelogical dig began in 1972 and it has evolved into
a "must see" site for the entire family.  As with all of
Michigan's state parks, it is a first rate facility.
Jeff took digital video and I took still pictures.  We can't
wait till we get back to our "regular" computers so
we can post some of the pictures and videos to share
with all of you Forum members.  Jeff and I had quite
a chore keeping Tammy and Becky in line while we visited
antique shops in the area in the afternoon.
All in all, it was a cool day.  8)

Jeff is suffering from severe computer withdrawal
right now.   Of course spending time at the
cabin is the right medicine for that ailment.   ;)

Picture of the blade and water wheel. I am sure Perry's photos will be much better. I did something stupid with the videos. I turned the camera. The videos are sideways and my editing software will do anything but turn the DanG movie.

when I get them up, you are going to get a kink. I think Perry got a video clip too though so I'll get that from him.

I keep trying to send Jeff my video of the water powered
sawmill but it won't let me send a file bigger than 5 MBytes.

I guess you'll have to wait until Jeff gets the CD I
sent him.   :)

Oh yes,  I forgot to add.  When Jeff can post
my video,  I had my camera horizontally for most
of the video but then I turned it sideways too.
It must have been something we both ate   ;D

Well,  I can put mine on or wait for Perry's. Sounds like Perry's is way bigger then I will put up so I will have to work on it.

Perry caught me as I was deep in dreaming of making my own model of old mill creek.
