I am going to build a hunting cabin next fall and am going to do a timber frame style. I have some really nice spruce logs and am going to saw them into 6x6 and keep them stored until I get started. What is the best way to do this?
I don’t have a kiln but do have a good size building. I am hoping to keep them from twisting to severely.

You can't really keep a timber from moving if it has a notion to. You can cut it oversize, let it dry and do whatever it is going to, and then remill it straight and to final dimension just before use.

Stack them so they bottom is at least 12” off the ground with good circulation. Use 2x4 stickers or use one 6x6 at one end and then the next layer and then a 6x6 at the other end, repeat. A roof is good.
