Hello all, mom wants a harvest table, earlier this summer I aquired some old beams from a barn that blew down a few years back. got the lt28 fired up and shaved the beams down to a useable flatness, while keeping as much of the hand hewed surface as possible, then made 2x out of them. so far so good, then I squared up some 6x6's that also came from the same building and milled them down to 5x5's for the legs and cross members. The question I have is, I don't want to have the tonge showing on the top of the table as there is enough going on with the table top surface. Any suggestions as to how fasten the table top to the leg tops.
thanks ahead,
bic

Fasten your top to some 2x cleats then cut a channel in your 5x5s to hide the cleats and screw through the 5x5s into the cleats.
