Hello all,
On May 27 28 and 29 in Frankenmuth Michigan was the Great Outdoors Games/ Lumberjack festival. I had seen this many times on ESPN but never live. This particular competition was the " decathalon series" both men and women compete in their own devisions with 60' pole climb and topping for speed, 1 person bow saw, hotsaw etc....it was EXCELLANT...and Ill tell ya...those woman can REALLY weild an axe. Anyway the MDA ( Michigan Dept of Agriculture) secured LCLTL a spot to be part of the EAB outreach. The MDA and MRC&D provided us with excellant lititure ond EAB and utilization including the most current revisions to the quarntine. This map was so new it wasnt even in print yet, but the MDA went out of its way to provide us with these maps so we could show the most current information. This ENTIRE weekend was sponsered by Baker Products who willingly stepped up to help " spred the word" HATS OFF TO BAKER PRODUCTS!!!...We took out log trailer with 4 Ash logs and our Baker mill and on Saturday alone had over 1200 spectators. It was a VERY good weekend. The concern, inquiries and need for this information and options by people was refreshing and rewarding. We put together packets with the MDA's and MRC&D's info along with Bakers info and all was well recieved. In fact we ran out of material. The crowed was impressed with our presentation and information...especially when I made repeated 1/16" vaneer cuts. Im attemptiing to post pictures and hope you enjoy them. HAPPY MILLING ALL!!!!

This crowed went 2 rows deep and the length of the display area, it was GREAT to see so many so interested

This was taken at 9 am, by 3 pm we had almost run out of lititure but mostly wanted you to see the vinyl EAB banner that was made up by a local print shop and donated to LCLTL

This is the most current EAB Qurantine map, note the changes and what they now call them

This map shows all the areas effected and under watch, provided by APHIS

these fine folks represent the MSU Extension, MRC&D, SOme handsum guy from LCLTL, Steve Bratkovitch USFS and A. Weatherspoon MDNR Wood Specialist

I'll send a note to Sharon Lucik and have her get us the latest available. If Chris has some that are full size and can send them to me before that, I can make them available here for download.
