Title: Central Boiler - Maxim pellet boiler
Post by: DDW_OR on October 20, 2019, 11:01:41 AM
looking at the cost and labor of firewood and Pellets

Pellets are much easier, and the BTU cost is about the same
1 ton pellets = $199, 40 pound bags

been looking at the Central Boiler Maxim pellet boiler with extra hopper.
thinking loading it once for the winter.
anyone know of problems or concerns with either?

any other Outdoor pellet burner i should know about?

I agree pellets are easier, but what happens to the price when a plant blows up or goes belly up?  I do remember rationing of pellets not all that long ago, in Maine of all places where you can't hardly walk without bumping into a tree.

Personally I will put up with the inconvenience of cord wood over relying on the technology and supply chain of the pellet world.

I work at a hardware store and we sell pellets by the bag. We had a hard time getting it by the bag. But the bulk customers did not have a hard time getting any. ::)  :(
