Hey folks, i'm new to this forum so I'd just like to say how much I love old Timberjack skidders. 60s and 70s 225 and 230s to be precise. They are honestly one of my favourite things ever, and completely underrated. Those 353 detroits are SO nice sounding lol!  :D   WHat are your guys opinions on them? Also, Post your pictures of your old Skidders as well! I would love to see them :)

I think when I finally wear my 540D out Im gonna look at a 230 or 240A
JD 540D cable skidder, and 2 huskies- just right.

I ran one of those babies back in the '80's. A 225D if I remember right. Loved the puzzled look everybody got when they saw all the levers and shifters (where's the steering wheel?) hahaha. Once we got the seal between the transfer case and brake where it would stay it had brakes too. Fairly essential here in the mountains. Really like the log grapple on yours.

If i didnt have a treefarmer, i would have a tj 225 or 230. i was on richardsmachinery.com yesterday and found a nice 230 factory DA grapple machine. i like the way the controls are in the cab, simple and right there.
