Husqvarna 40 What version?

Was given a Husqvarna 40 that's not getting a spark? Don't know the version? The serial no is 5121978. Talked to a dealer and they couldn't tell me when it was made. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd guess  1985, 12th week, unit 1978 off the line.
Search web Husqvarna 40 IPL and pay attn to years
Husky: 372xt, 272xp, 61, 55 (x3)...Poulan: 315, 4218 (x3), 2375, 2150, 2055, 2000 (x3)...Stihl 011AVT...Homelite XL...Saws come in broken, get fixed or parted, find new homes

Husqvarna, is it the squarish looking plastic saw, or is it the slim looking metal saw?

Should be this coil then, but check again on your saw, that the ignition wire leaves the coil horizontally and near the bottom of the coil.

If the wire should leave the coil vertically and out the top, it is a newer version.
