Learning on the job

There seem to be relatively few opportunities for hands-on timber frame instruction. I wonder if anyone doing this kind of work would consider some low-wage labor from an interested ignoramus? 

My construction expertise is in flooring and fencing primarily. Though I've done a lot of other construction related jobs I've never been trained in any of them and have always worked solo or with other unskilled help. 

I'm a hard worker, can travel anywhere but prefer Appalachia, and have no interest in making money. If anyone is willing to take on a working student for a while let me know.
