In order for me to better understand some of your stories can you give me the actual dimension of what you call a board foot. I work mostly in metric these days !

12" long x 12" wide x 1" thick.   A board 96" long x10" wide x 2" thick would be 96 x 10 x 2 = 1920 cubic inches devided by 144 (the number of cubic inches in 1 bf) will be 13.33 bf.     Steve

thickness (in inches) x width (in inches) x length (in feet)/12 will give it to you as well. 

There are 12 board feet in 1 cubic foot.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
