Would black gum work for stickers?  I'm going to have about 2000 bf of poplar sawn into dimensional lumber and I need more stickers.  Coincidentally, I had to take out a 14" dbh gum.  I know it's got spiral grain and it is terrible for firewood.Gum is the stump on the left.

In a word. Don't.
Thanks. I've got plenty of poplar that makes great stickers.

I tried it several years ago. Most of the stickers twisted a lot after multiple kiln cycles.
