How does the hydraulic stay put? I'm getting ready to try some rrqs and trying to figure out how to shift the log easily.

I use the hook part from a cant hook adapted to a chain.
Wrap the chain around the log and at the top of the hydraulic cylinder
I welded a grab hook to hook the chain to.
Pump the cylinder up, which turns the log against the back stops.
If you need to go more set the dogs, let the cylinder down and catch another chain link
and pump the cylinder to roll more.
