Title: The Outdoors is the best Medicine
Post by: POSTON WIDEHEAD on November 26, 2014, 09:28:12 PM
Lots of things have been just hard to swallow lately......and tomorrow morning will be a time to think and reload.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the family and in the morning, 7am sharp.......Rabbit season opens!

I have a friend with a big pack of Beagles....Cry Baby, Black Dog, Fancy, Spot, Half Ear, Weenie, Blue and the rest of the pack will hopefully run a Rabbit or 12.

The guns are cleaned, bought shells today and my son has his clothes laid out.

A great day to be Thankful for! Yee yee yee.......live action boys!  fudd-smiley

Go get 'em Kid!  :D

You got to be feeling like Christmas Eve tonight. I've had some great Beagles and I loved that music they sing in the Woods more then anything. We may butt heads on eatin  grits, but I'm with ya on Outdoor Medicine.  ;)

I hope You and Paul have a Great hunt.

Poston, ( you better be a sleeping but...) if you want some LIVE ACTION, you need to load up your friend and Paul and that pack of hounds and head north for some snowshoe hunting this winter. We got em almost as big as goats up here!  ( insert pinnocio smiley here).  ;D

Back when I was a teen, almost every household had at leas one beagle, now maybe about 2-3% have beagles.

No rabbits in this area, except for an occasional glimpse of one or maybe just seeing tracks.

Used to love turning the beagle loose, finish up the chores, eat breakfast, then grab the 22 and intercept the rabbit the dog was onto.

I got rid of my beagles and bluetick when they opened the new 4 lane US72 many years ago.  They built the hwy. right through the middle of our bottom land, split the place right down the middle.  I didn't want to find my hounds run over so I got gave them to a friend.

I came home at 11 o'clock and left the rest hunting. So far they had 9 Rabbits.

Magic....we had to use a 12 gauge.....there just to fast for a 22.  :)

The dogs were sooo excited.....first hunt of the year.

I managed to shoot the cotton tail off one but Paul got him on up the run.

Paul kept busy carrying his Rabbits and trying to keep the dogs off them.  :D
