Hi Performance Lumber.  I'm guessing you know Mr. James Brill of Seymour, Wisconsin!

Jim hails from Seymour, WI, as I do.  I tried-a few years back-to get him interested in a possible secondary wood source-a hybrid larch plantation.  I have just such a plantation on land I own in Oconto County, WI.  I think Jim thought I was trying to sell him timber.  Not the case...I was trying to sell him on the sheer excellence of this tree, its extremely fast growth, and the highly usable wood.  I was attempting to suggest I would operate a plantation for him...not my own, but a different, larger facility.  20-year rotation to small sawlog size.

No such luck!  Oh well, I have other plans for retirement!

Thanks,
Tom Duffey
