Someone here in Kent got the idea of sending Christmas gifts to our troops in Iraq, and with the help of our American Legion post, the local IGA, and some others, this is what worked out. In 2 weeks of donations, the legion collected the 70 boxes on my truck, we spent the day yesterday sorting it all out, boxes of candy, gum, popcorn, hot chocolate,  soups, mens & womens toiletries, socks, the piles of stuff were quite overwelming. We loaded it all on my Ford last night, and another guy rode with me to West Point Academy on the Hudson river, where it's going to get  repacked & flown to Iraq by Christmas. I hope we make some soldiers holiday a little brighter. God bless America.
I was the smartest 16 year old I ever knew.
