Just be careful who you send to the hardware store.  :)

I just went back and reread that whole thread.   I think I laughed just as hard as the first time I read it.   ;D

As eluded to in another thread, a friend gave me a very nice scrap of Cherry.  I'll be cutting it down tomorrow night, sanding, and burning my name into it.

It will only be .75" thick but I seem to remember reading somewhere that this is okay.  Is it also okay if I do not put any sort of finish on it?  I may try to put just a coat of poly on it, to seal it, but no stain or anything else.

I have the feeling that split shingle marked with a magic marker would suffice for Jeff's shed :)

That's what I did. Just don't write "beenthere" on it.  ;D

Mine must be well aged by now. Maybe the marker pen writing has worn off by now.  ::)

The only one that seems to have lost it's markings is Burlkraft's ;)

That must be from all the times it fell off the ceiling :D

Finished my lettering today.  After some oil finish tomorrow and time to dry it will be on the way by Monday I think.

I may have mine in the mail by Monday.  Not sure if it'll make it there in time for the roast.

Just about done.  Put a coat of poly on the unfinished back, just to seal it.  I'll put the first coat of poly on the front tonight and maybe finish the whole piece tomorrow.  It's our anniversary though,so we'll see.  :)

Thanks!  12 years.  It's official, she's one of the most patient women on the face of the planet!  ;D

Jeff, I hate applying poly, sometimes.  Had a bunch of real tiny bubbles in this coat for some reason.  About to head out to the shop and see if they settled out.  Might have to sand it down and put on another coat.  :-\  My goal is to get this in the mail to you by Monday.

Jeff

I like bubbles.

Fun Fact.  There are a few blocks here where people made a fuss on the finish, then wrote their name on the unfinished back.  Guess what side is facing out on the ceiling? ;D

It dont matter what they look like!  :)
