Title: solar kiln with building steel interior/exterior
Post by: jbuck984 on December 31, 2013, 12:16:42 AM
I really need a kiln..!! For my occasional sawing I really like the idea of a solar kiln and I'm leaning towards the Virginia tech 2000bf. I have plenty of lumber cut to frame it and some building steel panels or "tin" here to use on the walls but I haven't seen anyone using it in a kiln. I plan to insulate as normal and to spray foam the edges to get a good seal. It seems to me the steel panels would work good, am I missing something?

The metal will be fine, especially because the price it right.
