I can only assume there were no weigh scales or DOT inspectors between here & there ...... :D
the truck on trailer weigh is about 17500 the trailer gvw is 20000 ::)
Gotta love them Fords! 8)
And the Ford GVW is 12,000 Tops ??? ;D :D :D
Quotethe truck on trailer weigh is about 17500 the trailer gvw is 20000
That was my point.
It's kind of like those Visa commercials......
Ford F-350 ..... 8,000 pounds
Tandem/tandem trailer......... 6,000 pounds
Truck drug home ......... 17,0000 pounds.
Total fine................. priceless with 31,000 pounds and a plate that's likely only legal for about 1/3 of that.
Now that's not to say it can't be done...... or that I'm not dumb enough to do it myself every now & then. :D :D :D
But officer, whad'dya mean a skid steer, a trim dozer and tractor looks like too much for one load on my truck, I can't be overloaded, I've still got space left on the trailer!! :D
I am predicting that you will need some exhaust work ;D
I hauled in a 9000 lb JD 350 dozer last week on my home made trailer. Was everything my ol F350 could do to climb some of our small hills here. course I am only running the 5.8L gas engine. I need more power!
It was a good test of my welds though. I must be better than I think ;)
:D :D :D :D :D :D
I've been known to sneak down a side road on occasion. ;) ;) :D :D :D :D

well you cought me on the load thingy ::) my gcvw is 20,000 i was 4 over but that diesel pulled well and now i have a new old toy for the woods 8)
Quotemy gcvw is 20,000 i was 4 over
I think you need a calculator. ::)
31,000 is not 4,000 over 20,000 ....... I figger it's about 11,000 over.
If'n ya' tinker with the 'puter in the truck, an put a big ole pipe underneath instead o' that little thing it comes with it reallllly pulls nice. 8)
Mine has some sort of defect in the driveline though, the back tires don't last long at all..... ::)
Gooseneck trailer its 17500 and on the bumber trailer its 12000 lbs
murf
f 350 weigh 7140
chevy c 60 10500
trailer registration says 6500
Ahhh, I thought you meant the Chebby weighed 17,000, not the Chebby and the trailer together. ::)
My mistook ........ again. :-X
If you get home with out an invite to exchange some of your green stamps for a new listing on your driving record then those numbers mean nothing.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Looks good Stump Jumper, what ya plan to use it for?
man tough crowd ......
big chevy/gmc looks great
of course i would rather see the chevy pulling the ford
good luck with it
furby thats the drivers ed vehiecal for my two youngest helpers :D :D :D ::)
Red, not a tough crowd, just lookin' out for friends.
Too much load usually means not enough steering or brakes. :o
Believe it or not there's even the odd jerk on the road that doesn't realize the bigger the load, the bigger the space they need around them.
I would hate to loose any more friends ........ for any reason. ::)
Nice rig you got there..

The way your boy handles the skidsteer...........I don't really think he needs the truck! ;D
I bet your helpers will love it!! ;D
Pulled a 5x10 U-haul trailer from Missouri to California...stuffed, with a 2.5L Plymouth Acclaim. Today they will only rent that trailer to use on a truck or SUV. Also pulled a 1/2 ton Chevy pick-up in from Kansas. The first trailer place wouldn't rent to me. The next one did, but I, well, wasn't exactly truthful about what I was going to pull. But I was in a bind, truck was going to be towed and impounded if I didn't get it out of there. That's a lot of $$. Expected a bit of trouble, but never got it on the highway.
I imagine you got more finger pointing than I did...well maybe not...you didn't parade it through the middle of two major cities. ;D
I really need a truck.
Actually they won't rent trailers like that for plenty of SUVs. :-\
I am gonna parade my trophy around like the city folk do with their bucks at deer season.

Stump_jumper,
I have a 1979 C-70. I hear you on the cab. A 100 mile round trip is a long haul in those Chevy's.
