My 2013 LT70 WIDE has intermittent head speed issues. While the head is moving forward it will suddenly speed wide open. After discussing with WM Indy, we changed the variable resistor speed control, swapped the joy sticks, and  replaced the communication wire on the festoon cable with no improvement. Anyone know what else to try. What else can cause this to happen?

Is this a Super 70? If so have you checked the hydraulic valve that regulates the head drive motor?

No. Its not a super 70. Its DCS (Direct Control System) All electric. 3 phase 25hp motor and single phase hydraulics

What is the drive motor powered by? Perhaps @customsawyer can help.

I'm not up to speed on the DCS mills. Is the drive motor 12 volt? Maybe Gary @gmmills  can chime in.
Two LT70s, Nyle L200 kiln, 4 head Pinheiro planer, 30" double surface Cantek planer, Lucas dedicated slabber, Slabmizer, and enough rolling stock and chainsaws to keep it all running.

Does your mill have the Diesel engine or electric motor? Is it only in forward? Have you checked the blue and green wires leading to the feed motor for a spot where they are rubbed through to ground?

Did you get it fixed yet, the wire rubbing together theory sounded good.  Steve
