Title: Question Regarding Cable Skidder Arch
Post by: Koopsy on March 07, 2023, 08:53:42 PM
Hello Everyone,

Would anyone know what the purpose of this bar could be? It swings back and forth, that's about all I got.

Thanks in advance,
Bobby(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/67845/2F978028-D630-4A93-9296-279A82C72050.jpeg?easyrotate_cache=1678239906)

Welcome to the forum . Hard to tell from one pic but looks like your skidder is in decent shape and looked after. Nice looking tree pusher. I found it to be a great add on. Allows room between tree and machine to work.  Just a thought you might cut a half moon in the edge towards the tree or serrate it with a grinder so it does not slip off the tree when you go to shove.  A couple cross hatches welded on top of it so you do not slip if you find your self standing up there to hook on a chocker up high on a tree for more leverage.  :)

I would use the bar to hook the unwanted/not used choker ends on so your not pulling out all 7 or 8 chokers that are there
